After you wash your car, slide a hand in a thin plastic bag over the hood. If it feels like fine sandpaper instead of glass, that roughness is embedded contamination — rail dust, brake dust, industrial fallout, and mineral deposits sitting in the clear coat. No soap removes it.

We remove it mechanically with a clay towel and lubricant, panel by panel. This is what makes the difference between paint that looks acceptable and paint that looks wet. It also matters functionally: a sealant applied over contamination bonds to the contamination, not the paint, and fails early.

Traditional carnauba wax looks excellent for about four to six weeks on the Gulf Coast before UV and heat break it down. A ceramic (SiO2) spray sealant typically holds four to six months in the same conditions, sheds water far more aggressively, and makes salt and bug residue release with far less pressure on the next wash.

That water behavior matters more here than shine does. When rain beads and rolls instead of sheeting flat, salt-laden water spends less time in contact with the paint, and hard-water spotting is dramatically reduced.

Wheels and wheel wells first, then a foam pre-soak to lift loose contamination without contact. Two-bucket wash, thorough rinse, then clay-towel decontamination across all painted panels and glass. We dry with plush microfiber, then apply the ceramic spray to cool panels out of direct sun — applying sealant to a hot hood in a Texas driveway is the fastest way to get streaking.

Exterior trim and tires are dressed, glass is polished, and we do a final walk-around with you in the light before we pack up.

Rinse the vehicle after any beach trip or drive down Seawall Boulevard, especially the lower panels and undercarriage. Avoid automatic brush washes — they strip sealant and add swirls faster than anything else. With maintenance washes every two to three weeks, expect the sealant to keep performing through most of a Texas summer before it needs reapplication.
